It wouldn’t be a normal season for Chelsea if there weren’t any absolutely world class goals scored. The 2019/20 season was no different with a number of fantastic goals flying in throughout. Here at All Things Chelsea, we have compiled our top 8 goals from this season, with you the reader able to cast your vote on who you think deserves to take home the title of goal of the season.

Goal 1 – Fikayo Tomori vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (A)

This goal stunned the entire football world, not just fans of Chelsea, mainly due to the nature of scorer of the goal. The goal was scored by Fikayo Tomori who was playing one of his first games since returning from a successful loan spell at Frank Lampard’s Derby County where he won player of the year. Many Chelsea fans had only seen glimpses of him throughout pre-season and against Derby in last years Carabao Cup. We certainly didn’t expect him to score such an unbelievable goal. The ball fell to him 35 yards away from goal on the right hand side of the pitch and he stroked it into the top left corner. Not a bad way to score your first for the club. An absolutely phenomenal goal.

Goal 2 – N’Golo Kante vs Liverpool (H)

It is standard procedure for N’Golo Kante to score against the top teams in England. He has scored goals against Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City for the blues and he tends to save his goals for the big games. This strike was undoubtedly one of the best goals Chelsea have scored this season. He weaved through attempted tackles by Fabinho and Jordan Henderson before blasting it into the top right corner. Unfortunately this goal came in a 2-1 defeat but that cannot take away from the world class strike itself.

Goal 3 – Reece James vs Ajax (H)

Out of all the goals on this list, Reece James’ equaliser against Ajax wasn’t the prettiest but is was absolutely monumental. It came in the famous 4-4 draw with Ajax at Stamford Bridge, undoubtedly one of the most dramatic nights in Champions League history. Willian whipped a peach of a corner into the box which in itself was a shock. The corner was then met by Kurt Zouma who thundered a header off the crossbar and like an experienced centre-forward, Reece James found space in the box and smashed the rebound in. The scenes around Stamford Bridge after this goal were truly special. A goal no Chelsea fan will ever forget.

Goal 4 – Tammy Abraham vs Arsenal (A)

After beating Tottenham Hotspur away from home the week before, Chelsea travelled to the Emirates to attempt to complete the double away from home against our big London rivals. The win was exactly what we got and we won it right at the death. This goal is nominated because it was a classic counter attacking goal. Tammy Abraham played the onrushing Willian in who took it past former blue David Luiz and squared back to Tammy who then finished clinically and ran to the away fans celebrating in classic Didier Drogba fashion. We went from one end of the pitch to the other in a matter of seconds and in the process, won another London derby.
