The Featured Three
Jack (@IsonCFC): Manchester United 1-3 Chelsea
Make no mistake about it, this season’s three games against Manchester United are something the Chelsea history books would like to forget. United have been in good form recently, but the quality of their opponent has been lacking. Whilst Chelsea might not be quite where they would like to be, this is a club which will always turn up for these games and grab them from the scruff of the neck. A lot of these Chelsea players still have a point to prove, expect some big performances today.
Justin Shain (@jusshain): Manchester United 1-2 Chelsea
Manchester United are obviously on a good run of games at the moment and have beaten us three times this season. But if players like Pulisic and Giroud continue to perform, I think we can easily put two past United’s leaky defense. The key to this game would be the midfield battles and shutting down Bruno Fernandes. If we have a energetic and composed midfield that shows up, we can easily dominate them in midfield. In the end, I think our players will have more fight in them and we will come out with a very close win.
Robert Pratley (@RJPJournalism): Manchester United 3-1 Chelsea
Although I’ll start to get a reputation for pessimism, I find it hard to imagine how we’re going to win at Wembley. Everything has been falling Utd’s way from a lack of injuries, a kinder fixture schedule (ignoring whatever OGS) says and a large helping hand from atrocious refereeing. Both teams will rotate to an extent and I don’t think scoring will be an issue as Utd’s defence is suspect to silly errors too, but I can see the pace of James and Rashford causing us real problems. The midfield is not settled and if Jorginho plays, I worry about Bruno Fernandes constantly pressing till he makes mistakes. Mike Dean is the referee and he’ll want to make the Semi Final about him, so expect a few dodgy decisions. Sadly, I think this might be a bad start to a pivotal week
