Ole Gunnar Solskjær hopes to start the post winter-break with a promising away performance at Stamford Bridge. Frank Lampard will also look for precisely the same from his team. The eyes of critics and fans alike will undoubtedly be on the new star-man for Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes. Fernandes turned out a solid game in his debut against Wolves two weeks back, with his technicality and passing being key attributes. Chelsea’s transfer ban (although it has been lifted) didn’t do much justice for the Blues in January as they saw no fresh faces coming into the squad. But it looks like it is going to be an exciting and busy summer for them with Hakim Ziyech being the first new signing made.

Neither of these clubs (who have won the Premier League title 18 times between them) are currently in their greatest shape to launch a challenge for glory and titles. And despite bolstering their leaky defence and shaky midfield with the signings of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Bruno Fernandes, United look weaker in attack after the departures of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez. Further complicating things is the injury crisis of top-scorer Marcus Rashford, sidelined with a double stress fracture in his back.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær takes United to Stamford Bridge hoping to celebrate a comfortable win like he has on all his previous visits to this stadium. The former United forward has been the manager for around 14 months, but has met and defeated Chelsea on their own pitch twice already this season.

Chelsea, of course, have sold Eden Hazard and they continue to place hope on Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi to shine and make an everlasting mark for themselves this season.

Matches between these clubs are generally tight, low-scoring affairs, and we see this one being no different. United will undoubtedly be hoping to secure a third consecutive win however, so this motivation might just be enough to tip the scale in the Red Devil’s favor.

Solskjær’s modus operandi against the top six teams has been to nullify the opposition’s attack and hit them on the break to claim a narrow victory. The Norwegian boss will hope to emulate the performances his team showed against both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City earlier this season; both matches were tremendous victories for United.
