Chelsea return to Premier League action this Saturday afternoon as the Blues look to get back to winning ways after a poor display last Saturday midday, as they were outclassed by Duncan Ferguson’s Everton who defeated the West London club 3-1at Goodison Park. Frank Lampard’s men are in high morale after a needed 2-1 win over French side Lille on Tuesday which secured the Blues a spot for this season’s knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.
The Cherries travel to London without a win in five games, and with only two away wins this season. Their most notable win was in November as they defeated the reds Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium 1-0. Bournemouth who are coming off an harrowing defeat to league leaders Liverpool, are aiming to resurrect the team’s confidence, by aiming to stun and silence the home crowd at Stamford Bridge. The Cherries are looking to achieve another upset result like they did in the 2017/18 as they famously dented Chelsea’s top four hopes, goals coming from former Blue Nathan Ake , Callum Wilson and Stanislas saw off a hapless Chelsea side who had lost faith on Antonio Conte.
The last encounter between the two sides at Stamford Bridge was on September 1st 2018 as Chelsea picked up a 2-0 win, in the reign of former head coach Maurizio Sarri.
