Eden Hazard has only recently joined Los Blancos and played his debut in La Liga. Eden has joined a Madrid team who have struggled in the last year, with their European success coming to an end, with Liverpool taking the throne from them in the 2018/19 season. With Cristiano Ronaldo now at Juventus, losing their best attacking player and potentially the best player in the world, definitely affected their success.
Eden Hazard was signed as a replacement for the Portuguese winger with big boots to fill but in recent news, Kante has been linked with joining the Belgian in Spain. Kante, the French international midfielder has shown his class in England starting his success with Leicester City. He won the Premier League, joining Chelsea for a bargain £30 million in the summer of 2017. Kante has gone on to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League with the Blues. He also won the 2018 World Cup with France on his first World Cup outing, which shows how important he is to his club and country.
Throughout Kante’s career he has been heavily linked with the top clubs in world football after consistent 10/10 performances every game. He allows defenders to feel more relaxed and gives managers opportunities to play more attacking players as Kante more or less plays as 2 players in some games. His confidence is increasing every season so it’s no surprise a top side like Real Madrid would like to have him at the club, with Madrid’s defence very much ageing and not up to its normal ability.
If Kante was to switch London for Madrid, it would take a world record offer, after players like Harry Maguire joined Manchester United for £80 million and Nicolas Pepe joining Arsenal for £72 million. It would only seem reasonable for Kante to move for at least £150-200 million. Chelsea need to improve their team under Frank Lampard with the defence being a certain position the Blues need to improve. Kante allows Chelsea’s defence to be much more secure and allows Lampard to play an attacking midfielder in the 3. If Kante was to leave, it would heavily affect Chelsea’s team and morale especially after loosing Eden Hazard, who was the club’s best player for a good few seasons.
With Kante arguably being Chelsea’s best player in the squad, losing him would be so critical going forward for the Blues who would need to heavily invest in the midfield if they want to compete in the biggest club competitions. Real Madrid would most definitely improve their squad if Kante was to join their team with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric being late on in their football career. This would definitely do Madrid the world of good and help them get the Champions League trophy back.
Overall if Kante is to leave, Lampard will need to heavily invest for the Blues to have any success as I don’t think the defensive midfielders that we have are good enough to win titles. Chelsea fans would hate to see Kante leave Chelsea as he’s such an extraordinary talent to watch and is such a loved player.
