Tammy Abraham has played a massive part in Frank Lampard’s current run of fixtures so far this season. The forward has scored 4 goals in his last 2 games in the Premier League, after playing for Aston Villa in the Championship last season. Chelsea fans were very critical as to whether he would be able to be our first choice striker all season. Abraham has various qualities that compare to Chelsea’s previous striker Didier Drogba who no doubt is the all time best striker for the Blues. Abraham is tall, strong, intelligent and very dominant in the box, beating defenders in the air and during 1 on 1 spring races. Of course we can’t compare Abraham to Drogba by form as he’s not had 1 season in the first team yet , but things are certainly promising for the English forward and no doubt will help Chelsea get important points this season.

With Chelsea not being able to buy players this season due to transfer ban, Abraham has been given first team choices very regularly even with the likes of Giroud and Batshuayi in the first team squad too. This will give the striker a lot of confidence knowing he is first choice yet being a lot younger than the other 2 strikers. A big target for Abraham in order to live up to Drogba’s name is to be consistent every game as previous strikers such as Higuain and Morata had long goal droughts. Tammy, I’m sure, will be hoping to be called to the England first team during this season but Chelsea fans will no doubt be hoping he doesn’t pick up an injury.

Overall I feel Tammy Abraham should aim for 15 goals this season. He is on 4 goals already and could be on a few more as well so I feel 15 is reasonable but definitely beatable. It would also help his game play if he could bring more goals to the likes of Mason Mount and Pulisic as it will bring assists to his game and improve his overall performances.

Tammy Abraham is no Didier Drogba, but if he continues like he is, what’s to stop him from reaching those heights?
