Chelsea Football Club have today announced that Frank Lampard will be replacing Maurizio Sarri as Chelsea’s new boss. Frank Lampard, who spent 13 years at the club has now returned as the new manager. Chelsea’s greatest player of all time has signed a 3 year contract. He is the club’s all time leading goal scorer.

Lampard spent a year as the manager of Championship side Derby County and did a decent job with the club. He got them to the play-off final against Aston Villa, where Villa came out 2-1 winners but they gave it their all. Lampard helped Derby get some fantastic results. They won against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup and made a terrific comeback against Leeds in the second leg of the play offs as they reached the final. There is no doubt that Frank Lampard will be a superb manager in the future but is it too early for him to join Chelsea ?

In my opinion it is the perfect signing because Frank Lampard knows the club and will promote the youth, since the club will be serving a ban. Lampard has a great relationship with the fans and certainly they will back him till the end. Yes there are some negatives about him joining Chelsea, because he does not have a lot of experience, but he needs time. The club needs to be patient. If he gets time I’m sure that he will do a fantastic job. All Chelsea fans should be very excited about Chelsea’s future under Frank Lampard.

Here is what Frank Lampard had to say about his return to Chelsea.

“I am immensely proud to be returning to Chelsea as head coach. Everyone knows my love for this club and the history we have shared, however, my sole focus is on the job in hand and preparing for the season ahead. I am here to work hard, bring further success to the club and I cannot wait to get started”.

Lampard had a lot of success when he was a player at Chelsea. He left the club in 2014 and he walked out with his head held high. He won 3 Premier League trophies, 4 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, the Europa League and the big one the Champions league. His time at Chelsea will never be forgotten and it is so exciting to see him back at the club as a manager. Let’s hope Frank can have great success over here, just like he did as a player.

Welcome home Super Frank!
